STUMP DUMP FIRE - HOPE VALLEY, RI
Thanks to Don Johnson for the scene access. The Hope Valley Department has been working this fire since July 28th. The fire first broke out 4 years ago and has been burning underground since then. Every year the fire will break out due to the dry weather. This is the worst it has been since the original fire. There is 1800' of 5" hose laid out to supply the operation. Units are working 12 hour shifts until the fire is brought under control. Units on scene were hoping they would be done by the weekend. Various Ladder and Engine Co's are being brought in so they do not overwhelm any department.
