On Aug. 7 around 1230 the Poquonnock Bridge, Old Mystic and Mystic Departments responded to I 95N between exits 88-89 for a report of a roll over down the embankment. Medics on scene prior to the end of dispatch reporting no injuries with all occupants out of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle pictured are extremely lucky. The passanger was not wearing a seat belt. Its hard to tell by the pictures but the vehicle hit a tree and rolled up the tree with damage to the drivers side A post. In the last picture you can see a portion of the windshield is missing. It was about 5 feet in front of the car. Also you can notice that the hood is missing. That was about 50+ feet up the highway. We are thinking when the car hit the guard rails one of the wires went under the hood ripping it right of the hinges. One other vehicle was damaged by road debris and the 3rd vehicle that actually caused the accident fled the scene.
