SCHOOL BUS MVA - GALES FERRY 5/15/06

The GFFC, Ledyard and LVES Departments responded to a School bus accident with unknown injuries. Upon arrival units found a school bus loaded with children partially off the road way. A volvo driving west bound on Route 214 crossed the yellow line and side swiped the bus. The impact ripped a lug-nut off of the rim. The bus driver did an excellent job of keepin the bus upright. If you look at the pictures you will notice that the bus did not have much more to go before it could have tipped over and hit a tree that was only 5 feet away. No injuries were reported.
