- I AM A FIREFIGHTER WITH POQUONNOCK BRIDGE AND GALES FERRY DEPARTMENTS. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS SERVICE FOR 12 YEARS. I AM ALSO A 911 DISPATCHER FOR THE TOWN OF LEDYARD FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS OR SO. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED TO DOCUMENT MY CAREER WITH PHOTOS. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE FIRST TRAINING CLASS WHERE I WAS A STUDENT, ONE OF THE FIRST CLASSES AS AN INSTRUCTOR, AND MANY PICTURES OF THE EMERGENCIES THAT I HAVE BEEN TOO OVER THE YEARS. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR EVERYONE TO SHARE THEIR EMERGENCIES THROUGH THE LENSE OF THEIR CAMERA. FIREMAN"S PRAYER
When I'm called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child before it is too late or save an older person from the horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and protect his property
And if according to your will I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife
In memory of all fallen firefighter's who made the ultimate sacrifice
