Brush Fire - OMFD
Here are a couple of pics from a small brush fire in Old Mystic on March 30. The address was 39 Pheasant Run drive off Deer Ridge Rd. Approximately ½ acre under the power lines. Brush unit 64 was able to get in under the lines via a dirt access road. Water was supplied from G61 by going into a neighboring driveway and stretching 300’ of 3” to supply 64. The fire was occurring the same time as a fire in Ledyard or Gales Ferry.
Thanks Al for the pictures and narrative.
MISC. PICS FROM DOWN SOUTH
This is the view from the station
Also is a picture of the Hollywood FD in Florida. This was taken on a very scary cab ride. I am not sure if this station responded, but this was the town in which Anna Nicole "accidently" overdosed.
This is the Everglades Fire District Vol. Fire Co. I don't believe this one is in service. This engine was an AirBoat ride place. Very fun.
We just got back from a Eastern Caribbean Cruise. Of course I had to snap a few pics along the way. St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, which is a very Americanized Island had new equipment, Scotts and currant turn outs. They get a lot of brush fires and their fair share of Structures.
