FF JOHN USES THE COMBI TOOL, WHILE FF LESSARD PROVIDES LIGHTING, TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE PASSANGER COMPARTMENT. THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE OPENED TO GATHER PT INFORMATION. GFFC RECENTLY PUT THIS TOOL INTO SERVICE ON ENGINE R21.

At approx. 0430 hrs the Gales Ferry FC, Ledyard Ambulance, Ledyard PD, and L & M Medics, responded to a report of a car into a tree on Route 12. Ledyard Dispatch reporting numerous calls. On arrival Gales Ferry Dep. Chief reporting that the vehicle was on fire with one patient on the ground. Ledyard PD, Sgt. Vanderveer, knocked back the fire with his fire extinguisher and then bravely pulled the pt from the vehicle. R20 reported pt in traumatic arrest and efforts were started and later found to be unsuccessful. Gales Ferry units held the scene while LPD AIT worked the scene.
