1st Alarm- Poquonnock Bridge

Thanks to Steve Lougee for these pics from the 1st Alarm fire on October 31st. At around 0745 units were dispatched to Ring Drive for a dryer fire. On arrival smoke showing with active fire in the basement.

This was the second fire of the shift. The first fire was located at Doncasters. For more pics and info stop by NLC Photos.

New London 2nd Alarm

Back on 9-20-07 the City of New London fire department responded to Bank St. for this 2nd Alarm. The Battalion reporting heavy smoke on arrival. Subase responded FAST.

2nd Alarm - Taftville -292 Norwich Ave

Oct 11, 2007 - At 16:18hrs the Taftville, Occum & Yantic FAST responded to 292 Norwich Ave for a structure fire. See more photos at Eastern CT Fire

CL & P ELECTRICAL ACCIDENT - GFFC

those glasses were clear

On Sept. 18th the Gales Ferry FD responded to the area of Whalehead Road and Anderson Drive in the area of the power sub-station for a unknown medical. Numerous calls reporting a possible electrocution. 3 electrical arcs where heard in the area prior to dispatch. On arrival 2 CL & P workers were found with 1st and 2nd degree flash burns to the face, neck and ears. Luckily these workers were wearing their safety gear. You can see in the pictures what their gear went through. Both workers were working in the buckets and they were able to get them selves down to the ground. Both were transported to Backus ALS for evaluation. No actual electric contact was made.

ENGINE 32 - POQUONNOCK BRIDGE

A few pics of Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department Engine Co. 32's new Rig. It arrived today at Shipmans Fire Equiptment where it will stay another week or so to have radios and equiptment mounted. It replaces 32's current rig which went into service in August of 1994.
