On December 15, 2016 Ledyard and Gales Ferry Departments were dispatched for papers on fire inside the building. Upon arrival, units found smoke issuing from the building. Working Fire was transmitted. Numerous area departments were assigned due to the volume of debris and the amount of overhaul needed combined with temperatures in the teens. Units operated for over 12 hours.

Gales Ferry Fire - Browns Crossing 12.1.16
a few pictures from last nights fire in Gales Ferry on Browns Crossing Rd. A small cottage set back over a wooden bridge. On arrival units found a fully involved Cottage with a brush fire running the embankment. Due to the wooden bridge numerous lengths of 3" was stretched using a gated wye and 2 1 3/4 hand lines closer to the building. Gales Ferry, Ledyard, Ledyard Ambulance, Ledyard PD Subase, Mohegan Tribe Fast responded to the scene. Great work by all companies

I want to thank everyone for checking in to see if the site has been updated. I have been a little busy and just haven't had the time to put towards the blog.

This was the first accident that lead to the second one.
395 southbound at Raymond Hill Rd underpass 1 car rollover minor injury transported to L&M BLS. Units responding M-17, M-100, and M-200
395 southbound at Raymond Hill Rd underpass 1 car rollover minor injury transported to L&M BLS. Units responding M-17, M-100, and M-200
2nd wreck from 395. these are just 2 of the cars involved. 395 southbound just north of previous rollover. total PT's was 9. 1 Person removed from middle row and rear of Expedition using the tool. Multiple M/A. Units on scene were M17, M-100, M-27, M-200, M-300, M-400. MTFD Engine 1, ALS Ambulance, Medic 55. Waterford Ambulances W-200, W-500. And One ALS ambulance from American Ambulance.
On November 21st PBFD responded to Stop N Shop for a reported trailer fire possibly attached to the building. On arrival found just that. It was reported that the trailer was filled with batteries. The fire was quickly contained but a lengthy smoke evacuation continued.
