CL & P ELECTRICAL ACCIDENT - GFFC

On Sept. 18th the Gales Ferry FD responded to the area of Whalehead Road and Anderson Drive in the area of the power sub-station for a unknown medical. Numerous calls reporting a possible electrocution. 3 electrical arcs where heard in the area prior to dispatch. On arrival 2 CL & P workers were found with 1st and 2nd degree flash burns to the face, neck and ears. Luckily these workers were wearing their safety gear. You can see in the pictures what their gear went through. Both workers were working in the buckets and they were able to get them selves down to the ground. Both were transported to Backus ALS for evaluation. No actual electric contact was made.

ENGINE 32 - POQUONNOCK BRIDGE






A few pics of Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department Engine Co. 32's new Rig. It arrived today at Shipmans Fire Equiptment where it will stay another week or so to have radios and equiptment mounted. It replaces 32's current rig which went into service in August of 1994.

Roll-over - PBFD




On Sept 4th the PBFD and OMFD responded to I95 North between exits 88-89 for a 1 car roll over with medics on scene. 1 pt was transported ALS. Pt was out of the vehicle upon arrival of the FD.

2 CAR - GFFC



2 car head-on on Route 12 in Gales Ferry on Sept. 3rd sending 1pt to the hospital with minor injuries.
