1st FIRE - NEW LONDON FD 1-29-07

NLFD responded to 271 Pequot Avenue for a structure fire. Units were able to contain the fire in about 10 minutes preventing the fire from spreading to other condo's. While picking-up from this fire they were dispatched to Stash's Cafe for a reported Structure fire. Busy day for Group 1.

2nd FIRE - NEW LONDON FD 1-29-06

This was the 2nd fire of the day. Units responded to Stash's Cafe for smoke in the building. Initial report was an electrical fire in the wall with a smoke condition in the building. While attempting to locate the fire firefighters found a laundry basket of towels on fire in the office. There was no extension reported.

TRIPLE FATAL - POQUONNOCK BRIDGE

Here is a few pictures from the triple fatal that the Poquonnock Bridge, Mystic, Old Mystic, Center Groton, L & M and Mystic River Ambulance units were faced with early Sunday morning on Flanders Road on the I95 overpass. Units were dispatched to a 2 car mva reported with entrapment and fire. Engine 32 arrived on the scene to find one car fully involved and another heavily damaged and hanging on the guardrails. I think everyone knows the rest of the story.

On January 26, 2007 the Ledyard and Gales Ferry Departments responded to Haley Road and called a working fire on arrival with heavy fire in the basement. A 2nd alarm was sound due to fire spreading and the cold temperatures. SBFD-FAST, Old Mystic, Center Groton, Poquetanuck, Canteen, L & M and LVES responded to the scene.
Much thanks to Bill Waterhouse and Al Vanlew for the photos.

NEW LONDON FIRE 1/24/07

Today was my lucky day. I just happened to be at the right time and place 2 times today. This fire was located at 17 Brewer. The fire appeared to be a rubbish type fire inside a commercial garage. The fire was quickly brought under control under the direction of Battalion 4. Units were faced with extensive overhaul and used foam during the overhaul. The last picture shows Tim Cook in action. Its not to often you get to see the photographers in action.

OLD MYSTIC FIRE 1/24/07
